Former FBI chief James the ex-FBI chief has pleaded not guilty to making false statements to US legislators and hindering a lawmaking procedure.

His lawyer submitted the plea representing him in a US district court in Alexandria, Virginia on Wednesday.

Patrick Fitzgerald stated he would try to have the legal matter dismissed for several factors including that his the accused, a opponent of Donald Trump, was being singled out.

Mr Comey was charged shortly after the former president pressured his attorney general to proceed against him.
